Free ARRI ALEXA Mini LF LUT (LogC3 to Rec.709)

Turns the ALEXA Mini LF's ARRI LogC3 (EI 800) / AWG3 footage into normal-looking Rec.709 video. One .cube LUT, free for any project, no email.

The zip holds the same LUT twice: a 65-point file for editing, and a 33-point file for monitoring on a camera or in an app, or for older apps that won't load the larger one.

Shot on Sony FX30 (S-Log3) and re-encoded into ARRI LogC3 (EI 800) / AWG3 to show the conversion.

The LUT converts LogC3 with ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color, as the manufacturer publishes them, into Rec.709 through the ACES 2.0 output (SDR, 100 nits).

Set up the ALEXA Mini LF

  • Records ARRIRAW or Apple ProRes (4444 XQ / 4444 / 422 HQ) in Log C (LogC3). Rec.709/2020 are monitoring outputs only, not recording colour spaces.
  • EI 160-3200 in 1/3 stops; EI 800 is base sensitivity.

Exposure

ARRI: each LogC3 curve (one per EI) maps 18% grey to Log C 0.391 (10-bit 400).
