Bransford MediaL-Log to Rec.709
Free Leica SL3-S LUT (L-Log to Rec.709)
Turns the SL3-S's L-Log / Rec.2020 footage into normal-looking Rec.709 video. One .cube LUT, free for any project, no email.
The zip holds the same LUT twice: a 65-point file for editing, and a 33-point file for monitoring on a camera or in an app, or for older apps that won't load the larger one.
Built from Leica's published spec; not yet tested on footage from this camera. If blacks look lifted or crushed, check the clip's data levels.

The LUT converts L-Log with BT.2020 color, as the manufacturer publishes them, into Rec.709 through the ACES 2.0 output (SDR, 100 nits).

Set up the SL3-S
- Video Profiles > Profile [1-5] > Settings > select L-Log (lower left). L-Log records in the Rec.2020 colour space. HDMI RAW is set with Format = RAW.
- Leica lists native ISO 400 and 2500 in L-Log. The spec sheet gives manual and Auto video L-Log ISO 400-100,000.
Exposure
Leica L-Log Reference Manual: L-Log puts 18% middle grey at 44% IRE (10-bit 445), and Leica's L-Log LUTs are built for that exposure. For best quality Leica recommends exposing to the right, then correcting exposure before applying the LUT. Internal ProRes L-Log uses video levels (64-940); H.264/H.265 use full range.
