How to install a LUT
Pick your editor or app. Every step is checked against the maker's own documentation, which each guide links.
- DaVinci ResolveResolve lists every .cube file in its LUT folder. Put the file there once, then apply it to a node on the Color page.
- Premiere ProPremiere converts log footage it recognizes on its own. To use this LUT instead, give it to the clip as an input LUT and tell Premiere the result is Rec. 709, so the conversion happens once.
- Final Cut ProFinal Cut Pro converts log footage it recognizes with a built-in camera LUT. Switch that off for the clip, then add this LUT with the Custom LUT effect.
- CapCutCapCut desktop imports .cube LUTs from its Adjustment tab. These steps come from CapCut's own guide; its help center has no LUT article.
- LumaFusionLumaFusion imports LUTs into its LUT presets, where they stay for every project.
- Blackmagic Camera appBlackmagic Camera can show a LUT on screen while you record Apple Log, so you judge exposure on a normal-looking picture and still keep the log file.
